At least one person is not too fond of “The Voice” back-to-back seasons. Blake Shelton has expressed his objection about shooting the show in spring and fall, but finally realized that things need to be compromised. “At some point, something’s gotta give,” so he addressed this issue. “I’ve been very vocal with the network and Mark Burnett’s production company. It’s like ‘Man, this sucks, because the reason that you want the four of us is because we’re viable artists right now-current. And we can’t do both, if we do back-to-back seasons.’ I’ve been hammering ‘em about it.”
Late Monday night (June 11), Aldean tweeted he’d been ticketed at the beach for swimming when warnings were posted. “Dear officer who gave me a ticket on the beach today for swimming in the water with double red flags. Thanx for the warning, Barney Fife!” Aldean wrote. In another tweet, he acknowledged, “I know he was doin’ his job, but I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t drown in knee deep water. Gimme a break!” The smartest thing Aldean did, though, was document his side of the story with a picture. “I would like to present exhibit A!!!!! Case closed,” he sent out with a photo of the beach and at least a dozen people in the water. It’s solid evidence that he was not the only one swimming. While he added that he respects law enforcement and is thankful for what they do, he also tweeted, “But me & that 12 yr old who got the other $100 tix are a lil bitter.” I’m sure Aldean will just pay the ticket, and that will be that. But for the 12-year-old, that $100 ticket will probably be a small price to pay for the story he can tell all of his friends about the day he and Aldean were busted at the beach.
Josh Turner and rising trio Edens Edge are among the country artists releasing new albums on Tuesday (June 12). Turner’s Punching Bag features “Time Is Love.” Meanwhile, Edens Edge’s full-length debut includes “Too Good to Be True.”
