Gloriana To Release Sophomore Album On July 31st
Gloriana will release their sophomore full-length album, “A Thousand Miles Left Behind,” on July 31st. The band teamed up with some of country music’s most successful songwriters to produce 11 tracks that represent how the trio has grown in the past two years. “We’ve grown up a lot as a band and have really honed in on our skills and found our sound,” said Mike Gossin. The album’s first single is “(Kissed You) Good Night.”
Martina McBride Joins E!’s ‘Opening Act’
Martina McBride has joined E!’s new reality show, “Opening Act,” as part of the Artist Development Team. The show will giving aspiring performers the chance to open for acts such as Brad Paisley, Jason Aldean, Nicki Minaj, Rod Stewart, LMFAO, Jason Mraz and Gym Class Heroes, among others. The Artist Development Team also includes Pete Wentz, Jason Derulo, Rock Mafia producer Antonino Artmato and vocal coach Nick Cooper. The team will scour the internet for talent then help them prepare for opening for an established act. Martina will be sharing vocal and performance tips as well as offering advice on some of the trials that come with being a performance artist. “Opening Act” will premiere on July 9th.
Kenny Chesney Lookalike to Receive Refund
He may not have been able to stick around long enough to see Kenny Chesney perform during the singer’s Nashville tour stop over the weekend, but Nathan Blankenship is putting an unfortunate situation behind him with some amicable parting gifts. The fan, who bears a strong resemblance to Chesney, was escorted out of the show by LP Field security for being a disturbance in the crowd. According to a statement Blankenship made following the incident, Sony Music Nashville and concert promoters have offered the infamous lookalike a full refund on his $200 floor ticket, as well as “several CDs,” which Blankenship says he appreciates.
