Kenny Chesney Receives Six for Six Plaque from Pittsburgh Steelers Owners
Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw’s Brothers of the Sun Tour played for a sellout crowd of more than 53,000 in Pittsburgh over the weekend. This marked Kenny’s sixth time to play for a sold out crowd at Heinz Field and in recognition of the feat, the Rooney family, owners of the Pittsburgh Steelers, presented Kenny with a cast iron Six For Six plaque to commemorate both his six sold shows and the Steelers six Super Bowls Championships.
“I believe this might be the best gift I’ve ever gotten on the road,” Kenny said. “It epitomizes all the heart and energy and passion that this crowd has, that this town has.”
Kix Brooks’ Solo Album Due Sept. 11
Kix Brooks will release a solo album, New to This Town, on Sept. 11 on Arista Nashville. Brooks produced the album, with co-production by Rascal Flatts’ Jay DeMarcus on the title track. Brooks co-wrote nine of the 12 songs on the album. He will make his solo debut on the Grand Ole Opry on Tuesday (July 10). Prior to forming Brooks & Dunn, Brooks released a solo album on Capitol Nashville in 1989.
Hunter Hayes’ Single ‘Wanted’ Goes Gold
Hunter Hayes’ latest single, ‘Wanted,’ has obviously been, well, “wanted” by many. It has just been certified gold for digital download sales exceeding 500,000 copies, marking the first gold-selling single in the 20-year-old’s career
