Sheryl Crow and newcomer Joanna Smith both ran the Country Music Half Marathon in Nashville for the first time. Crow broke two hours, finishing in 1 hour, 59 minutes. She says she loved the bands that played every mile along the course. “They were so uplifting and fun” and really helped take her mind off the pain, she said. Smith pulled double duty, singing the national anthem and then running 13.1 miles in 2 hours, 22 minutes. Rodney Atkins headlined the post-race concert that was free for all runners.
