Randy Travis was found naked and threat­ened to kill police offi­cers after dri­ving his car off the road around 11:30 p.m. on Tues­day near Tioga, Texas. Travis crashed his 1998 Pon­tiac Trans Am into bar­ri­cades in a con­struc­tion zone, a spokesman for the Texas Depart­ment of Pub­lic Safety said. A blood spec­i­men was taken after Travis refused a sobri­ety test. A state­ment from the sheriff’s office said that Travis “had a strong odor of alco­holic bev­er­age on his breath and sev­eral signs of intox­i­ca­tion.” Travis was alone at the scene of the acci­dent. While he was being trans­ported to jail, Travis “made threats to shoot and kill the troop­ers work­ing the case,” accord­ing to the state­ment. After post­ing a $21,500 bond, Travis was released from jail yes­ter­day morn­ing. Blood results were pend­ing. He was issued a paper suit at the jail.
