Randy Travis was found naked and threatened to kill police officers after driving his car off the road around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday near Tioga, Texas. Travis crashed his 1998 Pontiac Trans Am into barricades in a construction zone, a spokesman for the Texas Department of Public Safety said. A blood specimen was taken after Travis refused a sobriety test. A statement from the sheriff’s office said that Travis “had a strong odor of alcoholic beverage on his breath and several signs of intoxication.” Travis was alone at the scene of the accident. While he was being transported to jail, Travis “made threats to shoot and kill the troopers working the case,” according to the statement. After posting a $21,500 bond, Travis was released from jail yesterday morning. Blood results were pending. He was issued a paper suit at the jail.
