Ras­cal Flatts’ Joe Don Rooney says the band nearly split up last year after the release of their most recent album, “Changed.” Rooney admits that 10 years together plus a change in man­age­ment made them con­sider hang­ing it up. “A year-and-a-half ago, we all looked at each other and I think there was a part of us won­der­ing if we could go on after 10 years. We had just gone through a sig­nif­i­cant man­age­ment change where we had to make a tough deci­sion and move on, and we had a meet­ing at Jay’s house,” he said. Ulti­mately, Joe Don says the trio decided they were will­ing to stick it out and con­tinue on their hit-making path.
