The best anti-car theft device? A stick shift. A Corvette owner in Florida was almost car­jacked, but the would-be thieves were forced to aban­don their plan because they couldn’t drive a stick! The men forced 51-year-old Ran­dolph Bean out of the car, and one of the thieves pointed a gun at Bean while ask­ing him how to work the vehi­cle. “I had to tell him four dif­fer­ent times to push in the clutch, because it’s a stan­dard trans­mis­sion,” he said. The sus­pects even­tu­ally gave up and ran away. Even though they left his car, they took his phone, the keys and his wal­let. Police are still search­ing for the suspects.
