Because fight­ing crime in a mask and bat suit works so well in the movies… In an effort to crack down on crime in Taubaté, Brazil, police offi­cials have actu­ally hired a for­mer sol­dier to dress up as Bat­man on the side to help patrol and rid the city of vil­lains and crim­i­nals. And they are tak­ing his role seriously—things have appar­ently got­ten so batty, they are ask­ing the caped cru­sader to help com­bat “crime such as mur­der and drug traf­fick­ing,” which have increased in the city, accord­ing to the Brazil­ian web­site O Vale. No word on whether or not they’re employ­ing Robin or an actual Batmobile…
