A judge handed down a novel sen­tence to a hus­band who shoved his wife in a domes­tic dis­pute. Florida judge John Hur­ley ordered Joseph Bray to treat his wife Sonja to a bou­quet of flow­ers, a nice din­ner at a seafood restau­rant and a night at the bowl­ing alley. He told Bray that the assault on his wife, after she com­plained he hadn’t wished her happy birth­day, was “very, very minor.” He also ordered Bray to seek mar­riage coun­sel­ing within a week.
