A Florida man with a 2-inch wound on his fore­head told police he was struck by some­one wield­ing a blunt object while he drink­ing alone in his yard. The Man­a­tee County Sheriff’s Office said the 31-year-old man told deputies he was drink­ing alone in his back yard around 4 a.m. Mon­day when some­one attacked him from behind. The vic­tim said he turned around and was struck in the head with a blunt object, which left a 2-inch gash requir­ing stitches. The attacker searched the man’s pock­ets for money but ended up leav­ing empty-handed, inves­ti­ga­tors said.
