Ranger is one lucky dog. The 2-year-old blood­hound wasn’t out of work for long after being pink slipped by the Polk County, Ore­gon, sheriff’s office due to bud­get cuts. He found a new job with the Bend Police Depart­ment. Ranger was deliv­ered free of charge. He joins two other dogs with the depart­ment. They’ll be trained in track­ing miss­ing peo­ple or fugi­tives and sniff­ing out evidence.
