Police at East­ern Michi­gan Uni­ver­sity said a stu­dent reported being kicked by a pro­fes­sor when he fell asleep in class. EMU Police Chief Bob Heighes said the stu­dent fell asleep dur­ing a 3 p.m. class Mon­day and the stu­dent filed a police reported at 6:11 p.m. alleg­ing the pro­fes­sor kicked him in the feet to wake him up. Heighes said the pro­fes­sor told offi­cers he asked the stu­dent to wake up. The chief said the inves­ti­ga­tion has been closed due to the stu­dent decid­ing not to press charges after fil­ing his report. Heighes said the stu­dent told police he wants to switch to a dif­fer­ent class.
