An Arkansas judge ruled in favor of a woman who tossed a winning lottery ticket in the trash, only for it to be removed by another woman. White County Judge Thomas Hughes ruled Tuesday that Sharon Duncan is the rightful owner of the $1 million ticket, which she tossed in the trash at a Beebe convenience store when a scanner at the shop erroneously told her, “Sorry, not a winner.” An attorney for Sharon Jones, who pulled the ticket from the trash and attempted to claim the prize, said the decision will be appealed.
