An Arkansas judge ruled in favor of a woman who tossed a win­ning lot­tery ticket in the trash, only for it to be removed by another woman. White County Judge Thomas Hughes ruled Tues­day that Sharon Dun­can is the right­ful owner of the $1 mil­lion ticket, which she tossed in the trash at a Beebe con­ve­nience store when a scan­ner at the shop erro­neously told her, “Sorry, not a win­ner.” An attor­ney for Sharon Jones, who pulled the ticket from the trash and attempted to claim the prize, said the deci­sion will be appealed.
